To see the map → this way!

From 2014 to 2018, Cifas put into place the project Subjective geography by the artist Catherine Jourdan. This project notably took place in Neder-Over-Heembeek and Haren, two territories at the fringes of Brussels.

Catherine Jourdan, psychoanalyst and documentary artist, ran a cartographic documentary project for several years. What was it called? Subjective geography. An odd name, but one that stuck. A subjective map is a map of a place drawn up by an ephemeral group of inhabitants. Playing with the codes of official cartography, it takes on a little of the veneer of academicism in the process.
